I don’t bake, but I can Make a Cake!

It’s safe to say the kitchen is not my area of expertise-LOL!  But when it comes to stamping, I’m great at following a recipe!

I got the idea for this card from SU demonstrator, Shelly Johnson. She posted it to Stampin’Connection, which is a website only for SU demonstrators to share samples, ideas, advice, info, etc. There are literally thousands of card/project samples to view!

This card highlights several NEW products from the NEW 2012-13 catalog: New Stamps (Make a Cake, Itty Bitty Banners), New Designer Series Paper (Patio Party), New Ribbon (1/8′ striped grosgrain-whisper white), and of course, New InColor Cardstock and Ink Pads (Midnight Muse, Primrose Petal, Summer Starfruit). As well as my “must-have” Dimensionals and Basic Rhinestone Jewels.

But we can’t forget about techniques! I used the Paper Piecing technique to add some of the designer series paper pattern to the bottom and top cake layers. It’s super easy and works perfectly with line-art stamps. All you do is stamp the image on a piece of designer series paper, and cut it out with your paper snips or hobby blade. Use a Glue Stick or Snail for your adhesive and layer it right over the image the card. Ta-Da! I wanted the middle layer to stand out, so I used my Two-Way Glue Pen as adhesive for my Dazzling Diamonds. A little Bling goes a long way!

Remember, you can receive the “Make a Cake” stamp set AND “Patio Party” Designer Series Paper absolutely FREE when you join my team during the month of June! Click here to get started!

As always, have a Fabulous Day and Happy Stamping!!!
