Something for Baby

Another one of my friends welcomed a new addition to their family–a beautiful baby girl! Here’s the card I created for the new lil lady and her family:

baby girl

I used Something for Baby stamp set and the coordinating Baby’s First Framelits (save 15% when you Bundle the two!). I used the Lullaby Designer Series Paper as my color inspiration for my coordinating card stock. “Enjoy the fuss” is from the Big News stamp set.

With all of the supplies already on the table, I figured I should probably create a boy version as well:

Sweet Treats for Halloween

halloween 3

Treat bags are always a hit at my Stampin’ events! I found this tutorial on Pinterest, from SU Demo Diane Barnes–Thanks Diane!!! I thought it would be fun to recreate them using the new “Freaky Friends” stamp set and coordinating Designer Series Paper!

step 1

Start with a piece of cardstock 8″ x 2″ and score at 3.5″ and 4.5″ using your Simply Scoring Tool

step 2

Cut a piece of Designer Series Paper 6.5″x 1.5″ and score at 1″, 3″, 4″, and 6″ using your Simply Scoring Tool (tip: the little markers make it SUPER easy to find your measurements–especially when you are going to score multiple sheets of paper)

step 3
Punch both ends of your card stock with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch (the width is 2″ so it should be a perfect fit!)

step 4

I wanted to add a little texture to my card stock, so I ran it through the Big Shot with an embossing folder (tip: fold the card stock on one of the score lines and it will fit nicely in the embossing folder)

step 5

We’ve already scored the piece of DSP, so just wrap it around and secure it with a piece of sticky strip or a couple of mini glue dots.

step 6

Finish it off with a piece of ribbon, and layer your “Freaky Friends” image on a coordinating piece of card stock. Don’t forget the treats! You can fit three Hershey Nuggets inside–sweet 🙂

step compare

To emboss, or not to emboss, that is the question! Which one do you like best???

Each of my Stamp Club members received one of these treats in their orders last month. I threw in a sampling of our new 2013-15 In Color Sequin Assortment–just a little way to say THANK YOU for being part of Club 🙂 The directions sheet and sequins fit perfectly in the bag, and the mini clothespin topper made it easy to secure.

treats instructions

Super easy to make and these would be perfect for back-to-school treats and the upcoming holidays.

There’s a whole lot of color going on with this super cute gift bag. And YES, it’s created entirely of Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper!!!! With this month’s Buy 3 Get 1 FREE dsp promotion, I thought it was the perfect time to showcase these adorable–and super simple–bags.

I found this GREAT video tutorial from SU Demo Jackie Bolhuis–Thanks Jackie 🙂 Here’s a quick cheat sheet — but I suggest you watch the video, as she gives you some great tips and tricks!

cheat sheet

My Stamp Club girls had soo much fun creating their own this month! Here’s a sample of their color combos:

bag collage

The little card and coordinating clothespin tie the whole package together. The card measures 2.5″ x 5″ (fold in half) and the dsp is 2-1/4″ x 2-1/4″.

black bags

I LOVE the simple elegance of the Back to Black dsp — stunning!

P.s….you can also make a smaller version using 8″x8″ pieces of dsp. Just reduce your score lines to 2″ and 1″. The smaller bags are great for gift cards and small treat items.
