Sending Hearts and Happy Mail

Yep! Here’s another post featuring a Paper Pumpkin Kit!

Let me tell you why…

Life got a little busy this fall, and stamping/crafting got moved to the back burner. I thought about making cards, but I was really overwhelmed and didn’t feel like I wouldn’t have enough time to complete a card from start to finish.

So when this Paper Pumpkin kit arrived in January, I decided it was a great place to start.

It was fun and exactly what I needed!

I made a few changes (cutting the pattern paper, mounted on white cardstock base, placement of the ribbon, etc) and all 8 cards were finished in about 35 minutes.

This also gave me a reason to send some happy mail 🙂

Who doesn’t love to receive mail that isn’t a bill?!?

Despite a craft room full of stamping supplies, I REALLY enjoy the convenience of these kits each month! Already looking forward to this month’s kit (which should arrive any day now!!!)

Thanks for stopping by!

xoxo, Lauren

Welcome Back!

July 2017 was my last blog post…

I knew it was a while ago, but didn’t realize I had let it go THAT long!?!?

So today’s the day to start again! It’s snowing, the temperature is below zero outside, and it’s the perfect day to make a cup of coffee and a few cards!

Let’s talk about Paper Pumpkin Kits from Stampin’ Up! I’ve been a subscriber since the beginning and I LOVE receiving a kit in my mailbox each month. The best part is that everything is designed, pre-cut, ready to stamp and assemble! It makes it fun, and easy to create hand-stamped cards without all the fuss.

Here’s a kit I worked on this weekend. Yes, it’s from 2018 — moving twice in the past 3 years, I packed up A LOT of supplies and I’m finally working my way through the boxes!!! 🙂

Each kits come with a coordinating stamp set, ink spot, adhesives, embellishments, and envelopes. It really is that simple! For this kit, the card stock was already pre-printed with this gorgeous floral design. I simply stamped the greeting, arranged the vellum leaves, and added a few dimensionals to the back of label to make it pop.

This kit contained supplies for 10 cards and envelopes, and took me less than 30 minutes to complete! I love having extra cards on hand, ready to go for any occasion.

What types of cards do you send the most??? Birthday, thank you, thinking of you, etc?

Have a fabulous day and Happy Stamping!

xoxo, Lauren

This Kit is a Hit

When I saw this kit in the NEW Occasions Catalog, I knew it would be one of my first purchases. Here are my cards (modified a bit from the pictures in the kit), and I LOVE how they turned out!

birthday_bright_group

The Birthday Bright Project Kit came with all the supplies to create 12 cards (with envelopes) and 12 gift tags. I don’t use gift tags too often, so I decided to make them into cards instead 🙂

birthday_bright_balloon

I created the tags as pictured in the kit, then added 2 layers of cardstock and card base. The black cardstock layer measures 5″x 3-3/4″ and the white/green layer measures 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″. Embossing folders were used to add interest.

birthday_bright_tag_candle

The candle card is 3×3. I snailed the silver tag onto a scrap of Emerald Envy cardstock and fussy-cut around the tag to create the outline. The candle (which is left-over pieces from the shaker card) is stamped in Emerald Envy and So Saffron.

The card on the left matches the one in the kit, except I added some texture with the Big Shot and Embossing Folder. And don’t throw away the birthday cake punch-out! It can easily be used to create another quick and easy card!

birthday_bright_candles

Once again, I used my Big Shot and embossing folder to add texture to this shaker card. I cut the black cardstock base in half, and trimmed it to make a mat. Then I used a piece of Emerald Envy cardstock to create a new, more colorful, card base.

birthday_bright_banner

I used the other half of the black cardstock base (from the shaker card) and trimmed it to make a mat for this fun pennant card, and used an embossing folder for texture. It’s hard to see in the picture, but I added a little Wink of Stella to the “wish big” greeting to make it sparkle.

*Tip – Use your paper trimmer to cut the pennants in half, using the score mark as your guide. Then stick the triangles directly onto the bakers twine/string and whisper white cardstock. This is much faster (and easier) than trying to wrap the pennants around the string.
